Question on engine swap...
Alright guys I got a sweet deal on a parts truck I bought. I got some questions first my truck is a 1979 f 100 with a 351-400m I wanted to swap the engine out for a 351w that I got from the parts truck. What kind of motor mounts would I need as far as year goes. The other question will a 1995 5 speed tranny work on my 1979. If it does not then what kind of aod should I use. Thanks in advance...

SBF mounts will fit the 351W.. just make sure it's a 351W.
An AOD has four (forward) gears..... are you sure you know what you wanna do? Are you looking for a 5-speed automatic?
For a 5-speed manual trans, a T-5z is compatible but I think it's a bit weak-kneed for a truck. A better option is a Tremec TKO... that's a manual trans.

Yez sir its a 351w and the donor truck is a f 250 but the motor mount perches are just welded pieces of railing or something like that lol. Well I got some perches today but they look like one shorter than the other one. And regarding transmissions I want an overdrive unit IF possible but a manual I dont mind either. As for as my truck info its a 1979 f 100 with a 351-400m that I want to take off to replace with the windsor. And thanks for the info sir...
