will a 98 computer work in a 99 expi
Like the title says will a 98 expi 4.6l computer work in a 99 with the 4.6?
I think mine is shot and I found a truck being parted out locally so I would like to grab some parts I need

I suspect it won't. I think that a 98 used an external PATS module but the 99 moved to the newer system where the PATS is in the cluster and the PCM communicates with the cluster for that function rather than the external module.

That may actually be an upgrade since it only runs on 6 cylinders right now. If it won't start at least it won't tease me that I can drive it
