bought this 1985 302 efi 4x4 it had mice on the engine and they chewed through one of the injector wires so i spliced it up now all the injectors have no voltage. would it be better to fix it of go with a edelbrock 500cfm and airgap intake?
Are you having trouble with that diagram in the other post? We can help you if you have a meter or testlight and can do some testing.
The airgap intake has me turned off already. I don't know where you live but if it gets cold I would not run one of those. You could change to a carb but it would be a lot of work.
ok i only have a digital tester. now i found out that there is 12v to the injectors when key is on but there it does not ground (complete circuit) with the other wire only when test to something metal. i wonder if i might have spliced the one connector backwards i am going outside to check now. if so do you think it could have hurt the eec computer
Yes, what I was meaning was to un-splice your wiring job - put things back the way they were because you know it at least ran that way (not merely unplug a connector from an injector).
The computer has internal protection against most of this kind of stuff and is pretty resilient, I doubt you hurt it.
i took the wire i spliced back off and tested both wires this time and i get 12v from each wire when grounded but nothing between them. i will test the two wires tomarrow and get somebody to crank it and see what happens.
