Well after going back and forth for a while now, the ford rep will not call me back like he said he would. The best ford would do was 300 towards a new bumper, they would not cover the entire replacement cost. That is not acceptable. Just a horrible experience overall. Anyone considering a new ford product, this is how ford will treat you. I can't express how disappointing this, just a major let down.

That's a shame and all should beware of this poor treatment.
Is your dealer willing to assist you by perhaps matching Ford's measly offer towards a new bumper?

Not that I would ever encourage criminal behavior, but the thought would cross my mind to stop by the dealer's lot at night and swap bumpers with one of their trucks on the lot. If the dealer and Ford think that rust spots are acceptable, they can have it back!
Alternately, the body warranty applies once perforation occurs. I would be tempted to stop polishing, and perhaps consider helping, that process.

Hi nitropolaris2,
I checked out your case and saw that your CSM had a hard time getting back in touch with you. PM me your best daytime phone number and I'll arrange for them to contact you. For future reference, if you ever have difficulty getting in touch with someone, just let me know and I'll help.
Ford has just wasted more of my time. What a disappointment! Ford's customer service is a joke, they don't care about you at all. Anyone looking at a new Ford please take this in to consideration. This kind of rust is normal, according to them. They really have cheapened these trucks up a lot!
I had to deal with a similar bumper issue also. I purchased my 2013 Ecoboost in December of '13 and I kid you not, it was only 3 weeks of driving it and just under 1000 miles that I first started to notice rust on the rear bumper.... At first when I contacted my dealer I got the run around also, "use chrome polish" "this is normal" etc. I kept after them and let them know this was unacceptable and they did replace my bumper with a brand new one at no cost to me.... So maybe it depends on the individual dealer? I am not sure.........
yes, I do live in Wi where they use far to much salt, but I thoroughly wash my truck weekly and do everything I can to keep it looking sharp. So my opinion is NO these new trucks should NOT be rusting like they are !
when i got an f150 back in 2011, i bought it with rust on the rear bumper truck had 17 miles on it... dealer just took some rubbing compound to it but it came back. i settled for it since it was the only lariat ecoboost they had. just my .02
I have similar issues on my 2013, not yet as bad but I have been fighting it with chrome polish and metal wax from Chemical Guys. It seems to have slowed down fortunately.
As soon as I saw these photos, I went out and rubbed some Fluid Film on the inside of my XLT's chrome rear bumper....in that area where I could reach. :-)
A dealer in Putnam, ct. has a white 2012 f-250 on the lot.
You would not believe the rust starting under this truck!
Anyone not living in a warm state, and is keeping their truck
for the "long haul" MUST have some type of rust prevention performed.
It's a sad, disappointing fact.
Well a Ford rep was going to call me back by July 10th, he never called me back. Ford has terrible customer service. I'm going to look at trading it in on something else, I doubt other brands have better customer service but I have to try. This is a sad day...

Hi nitropolaris2,
I checked out your case and see that your customer service manager (CSM) was waiting for you to return to your dealer for repair. Let me know if you went back to your dealership and I'll see what I can do to help.

No that is not correct, He called me and told me that Ford would $300 of $674.02. I said that they need to do better than that, and he said he would call me back by the 10th of July. Never heard from him since
