good diesel mechanic in the south bay?

Hey everyone, I am a new truck owner and am looking for a highly recommended but fairly priced diesel mechanic in or around San Jose. Can anyone recommend a shop?

What is it you are looking to have done? There are several of us in the area who would be willing to lend you a hand and help you save some money.

She's looking for a tuner for sure, Pete. See her thread in the 7.3L PSD forum.

Speaking of which, I need to post the Man Town GTG announcement thread.

I wasn't really trying to sell her tuning. Although, I'm available to help with that as the need arises. I was just trying to be helpful. Depending on what needs to be done, plenty of us are able to do it and help save a ton of money. Heck, think about how much I've saved you over the years.

Hmm, did my post come across wrong?

Your post was very helpful. I was just letting you know she has a thread going in the 7.3 forum, so you could chime in there too, ifns ya wanted.

Perhaps I should have posted with my personal account to make it come across differently than it did. Shoot me a PM or post here what you are looking to have done. Several of the 7.3 and 6.0 guys in the area can tell you, there isn't much we can't accomplish in an afternoon.

Heh heh heh...if you do that Pete, you're gonna have people lining up to have you work on their rigs and we'll never have time to hang out.

Lets see, Clay started as a regular member here on the forum before he started his business, Riffraff Diesel.

Pete's Automotive Repair & Sales.

It has a nice ring to it.

I have the tools...you have the back and knees. We can be partners, LOL!

Especially the sales. I have way too many hanging around right now.

Heck, I even have the tools. What I need is a partner with capital.

We can have a small side lot next to the garage.

Heck, I even have the tools.
Yeah, but I have more!

I have 5 bucks and a great credit score......

Thanks guys! While I am looking for a tuner, I'm also just looking for an overall mechanic for my regular maintenance. Someone I can trust. Sadly, I just lost my beloved little Miata because I trusted it to the wrong person. Since I'm too broke to get a Miata engine rebuilt, I'm going to try the best I can to avoid any major break downs in a big, expensive diesel truck. I'm a decent basic mechanic on gas engines, but I would like to learn diesel, I know nothing!

Natalie,

I'd love to help you out. I do work on Powerstrokes. I also happen to be a Miata owner and know those pretty well too. What happened to yours?

Ha Ha....Pete works on powerstrokes is an understatement....He is a mad genius when it comes to these engines.

Long story short, a friend of mine rebuilt the engine for me and did something wrong. It developed rod knock after less then a thousand miles. It's been parked for six months now, trying to sell it. I loved that car! We've been through some good times together. I bet it's the only Miata out there that's been off roading in a horse pasture, through a creek, and had hay bucked off the back.

Happy hunting on the mechanic in SJ. I have a good one here in Livermore at Aabco if you can travel 30 mins.
Funny about bucking hay.
Years back I had an Astro van that I could fit 8 bales in and the only thing missing was Dueling banjo`s cranked up as I drove through town.
Had a qtr horse and an Arabian. What do you have?
Happy Easter
