Progess and problems

Hey guys been a while since I've been on. Spring is pretty busy on the farm out here in KS. I have been busy working on my 77. It's currently away getting a flatbed put on. Original bed was rusted hole for the 5th wheel was huge and nasty and the tailgate was more useful as a seat because it always fell down. I made progress on my blinker not working I replaced the switch in the steering column and so far so good. I also did a small tune up on the engine (plugs/wires filters etc.) did wonders for the engine! So with some patience and time progress is being made.

Problems are a short list but I'd appreciate input from the community. Carb needs replaced. Currently have a Holly 600 cfm that is flat worn out. I say replaced because I'm not rebuilding it and can't afford to have the truck out long enough to send it out. I'm leaning toward a Edelbrock performer series carb. Good and Bad I'm open to hearing. Please don't bash one brand or the other just facts and solid opinions.

I'm also looking at adding a fuel/toolbox combo to the truck. Looking at an RDS 41 gallon option. Has anyone done something like that and any advice on the setup?

Dang..where ya been? We've been wondering!

Carb... the Eddy 1406/1405 are good choices for a DD. In addition, look into Summit's clone of a Holley priced right around $270... 600 cfm will do ya right.

No specific experience or opinions on toolbox/fuel tanks combos.

Thanks!

1405 is where I was leaning so thanks for the input. It's calving season so been pretty busy on the farm! Hopefully I'll get some pics uploaded of the truck hauling cattle out at the end of the month.
