07 climate control problems

I have a 07 CC Lariat and this morning I started my truck and the defrost blower was on high and the climate control was off.
I tried all the controls and it just will not turn off and the blower will only go down to about medium.
I can get it to change between modes but when I hit the off button it goes to high in the defrost ducts and there is nothing on the screen.
I have now pulling the blower motor fuse to stop it.
Help !!!

I had the exact problem on my '06. The dealer replaced the blower motor resistor. Part number 6C3Z-19E624-AA. This fixed mine so I hope it fixes yours. No idea on price as it was done under warranty. Good luck

It is like it has a mind of it own.

Mind of its own is right. When mine went i was heading out on a camping trip. Nothing like a 350 mile road trip with the defrost on constantly. It was winter so the windshield did stay clear...i guess that's why it defaults to defrost.

I never thought of that.
It is just loud so I pulled the fuse.
Any idea where the resistor is ?

Thanks.
I thought maybe you just knew.
I have the full shop manual out in the garage so I will look it up tomorrow.

I also keep mine nice and clean.

My "electronic" climate control sometimes doesn't power up when I start the truck (usually in hot weather). No temp display and nothing changes when you press the buttons. Usually it would work normally if I restarted the truck. Someone suggested flipping the headlights on. Crazy as it sounds it worked. I could understand how that might affect it if it was just the display being dead but how flipping the light switch could "wake up" the button functions is baffling.

I've had the same issue with my '06. I tried everything, then just turned the truck off and back on and it worked again. Only happened to me once.

The blower resistor is housed inside the evaporator housing inside the engine compartment adjacent to the receiver drier.

I have even tried pulling the battery cables off.

Im having issues with my blower motor aswell. It surges. Have it set to #2 on the controller & then it just kicks in full blast! Few secs later back to normal.
Does this couple time during the drive to work. I can select all the different vents but the motor does what it wants.

Cheap fix is the resistor but what about the upfront controller doing this?

There have been several posts explaining this behavior. I have 'only' had this happen twice in my 3+ yrs of ownership..

The power saver circuit has a non-replacable relay on the instrument cluster that sticks off. The added power draw of the headlights triggers this relay into working properly.

I had same thought while reading this thread, but don't think it is the cause..

To follow up,
I wonder if the '05+ new sd dash got rid of that pesky relay on the cluster...
