No power?

I have a 1995 f250 351w
It has no power but does get I want to say it small bursts of power for 30 seconds once in a while out of no where then goes back to no power

By no power i mean like if I am running 55 mph and want to go to 60 mph with accellator on the floor it crawls to 60 but takes a long time

Runs great at idle uses no fluids

The truck acts like it is running lean to me so I changed the fuel filter didn't help
So I put a gauge on and checked the fuel pressure it was good

Had a check engine light pop on but went out so I took it to a friend that happens to have 2 scan tools one in a fancy one that reads 1 and 2 when we hooked it up it kept coming back as can't read computer or something like that so we hooked up his older obd1 only scan tool and it read 111 that everything fine

By the way recently replaced my rear fuel pump it doesn't matter wich tank I am on it runs the same

So I am looking for ideas
Wondering if my computer is bad read something about that in searching???

Is your exhaust free flowing? Bad cat perhaps?

did you check fuel pressure while driving down the road? it should not drop more the 10 -15 psi i believe

the small bursts of power is something i havent ran into yet

possible there is a wiring problem maybe its not advancing the timing ? and is intermittently making connection and advancing the timing but i would think it would set a code for that

does it down shift when you jump on it?

Conanski. Not sure I will check the manifolds don't seem to be over hot I think that is a sign of a plugged cat

My truck is a five speed but I have to downshift to get up hills or it will loose speed the whole time

Fuel pressure should never drop when the engine is under load and it should be close to 40psi under those conditions.

To check the exhaust just have somebody tromp on the gas while you listen outside, it should not sound like air escaping from an air hose and there should be plenty of volume coming from the tail pipe. A rattle in the exhaust is a dead giveaway that the cat is broken as well.

Tell us if your heat/ac switch from windshield to floor by itself while driving with differing amounts of throttle.

Sounds like it could be a vaccuum leak somewhere, sometimes it's the white line for H/AC controls.

I haven't noticed it switching but it will only blow out the defroster nowhere else

Ok so I found and fixed a vacuum leak now my controls work
But didn't fix the problem

Cat is ok

Here is my question looking at the o2 sensor someone has replaced it not long ago I think it looks pretty new and easy to turn in and out but the end of the wiring harness has Been cut off or is missing so they have cut the end of the o2 censor off and wired the four wires directly to the harness

But there is a fifth wire in the harness that is brown that goes nowhere also cut at the same length l don't know if it was in the plug or just a unused wire in the harness

If any one could help figure out about the brown wire I would appreciate it
Thanks
