I use my rear slider all the time! Just open the slider and sunroof at the same time and it creates a good amount of air circulation in the cab. I agree with the others with getting it in the package and not an add-on. That way it is covered under warranty.
I haven't used a rear sliding window since the old days when I had a regular cab truck with no A/C. All of my trucks that I bought off the dealers lot came with rear sliders. But since I never used them anymore I ordered my 2011 without one. I even like the look of the solid window better.
I like the look of the solid rear window better, but I do like the airflow from the rear slider. To me, it's a wash. Now that sunroof, I'd much prefer to have a truck without it, but that's a different conversation . . . .
I have a (manual) rear slider in my Nissan Frontier King Cab and really enjoy using it with window(s) part way or fully down - to eliminate buffeting.
As I just posted here: Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - View Single Post - Decision 2014 or wait for the 2015, I'm reviewing factory order options for a new 2014 F150. Internet sales guy I've been working with says Ford is shutting down F150 lines earlier this year to convert over to new 2015 aluminum bodied trucks, but the window of opportunity to custom order hasn't quite closed - yet.

Yes I noticed his is an old thread, but I wasn't the one who revived it
I couldn't help but agree on how much I enjoy having the Sunroof & R.Slider opened together
The F 150 slider is bolted in and sealed with a soft sealant (butyl) and you can push the old one out with no cutting, the only hard part is removing the interior to access the 8 or 9mm nuts. The original brand is Carlite, which is the best quality. I would go to a auto glass company and a dealer for prices on the part but if you dont do it yourself call a glass company and avoid the middle man. 99% of the dealers call a glass shop for installs anyhow.
OK, kinda the opposite of the thread...
What would it take to convert from power rear sliderw/defrost to solid window?
Other than glass and soft parts, my main question, will the body control module(?) accept not having the slider plugged in?
