Question Lots of Codes!

This is about my 01 F250. I had an older thread started but instead of bringing it back, I thought I would start another since I have new codes. At different times it seems like it is running on less than 8 cylinders. It comes and goes. With and without wipers on. I changed the cps, checked the ohms on the big plug over the valve cover. I put a new UVCH on the drivers side yesterday but it did not help. The old one looked brand new. The truck has 321k on it.

With my new AE, I got the following codes: (thanks to Doctor Tugly)
1316, 0470, 0605, 0282, 0266, 0272, 0284, 0269, and 0476.
Buzz test said #8 was a problem. Contribution test said 2, 3, 4, and 8 were a problem.
I think 0470 and 0476 have something to do with exhaust.

Looking at this mess does anybody have any ideas?

Did you clear all the codes before you took the new test?

Yes. I wrote them down and then cleared them. Then took a ride while it was acting up and then took another test. The ones from the contribution test were not there the first time.

This happens at random now. It is fine for hours and then it starts. Then fine then not. But it is getting worse by the day.

I don't have the AE all figured out yet, but because of Tugly, Doctor that is, I can turn it on and get some use out of it.

Of course the AE doesn't tell me what codes translate into bad parts. I can usually fix something once I know what is wrong.

Did you replace your CPS with an OEM one? Did you check all your wiring for chaffing?

Yes the 470 & 476 are for your EBPV system like the plug on the front of the pedestal or the EBPS. I don't have the list of codes in front of me so I can't tell you about the others.

P0470 is exhaust backpressure sensor circuit malfunction, and P0476 is exhaust backpressure control valve malfunction.

Got it from Ford. It is gray. The old one was black.

What happens to the EBPS? Does it need to be replaced or cleaned?

You can clean it first with brake cleaner and a q-tip but be very careful sticking the q-tip in there because you can damage the sensor. Also while you have the sensor off, remove the tube that it connects to and clean that also. Check the plug on the front of the pedestal because that can cause the 0476 code and the valve maybe just fine.

No, the sensor is on the front of the engine attached to the front of the HPOP. The tube attaches to it and runs down the passenger side of the HPOP.

No the EBP sensor is right in front of the HPOP, the sensor screws on a bracket and then the tube goes from there to a fitting on the front of the passenger side exhaust manifold.

Wow, double post and didn't even know it. Time stamped the same and everything.

Yep my bad, I thought you were talking about the connector. The sensor is in front of the HPOP.

Thanks for all the replies.
Does the tube get cleaned too? How about whatever the sensor sends a signal to? Does it control something in the intake that should be cleaned? Or replaced?

Didn't I see somewhere a picture of where all the sensors or trouble parts were located on the engine?
