I own a 1985 F250 XLT Laredo extended cab long bed with the 6.9 diesel and 4 wheel drive. Can't tell how many miles are on it since the odo only has 5 digits. Tires are 31" tall on 6 & 7 inch wheels. The truck sits fairly level, and taller than a lot of today's stuff. My front suspension only has about an inch or so of travel before the bump stop hits.
Now the question.. Does anyone out there have a similar truck that is at stock ride height? If so, could you tell me how much travel you have? maybe include the measurement from the ground to the fender opening front & rear (tire size would matter here) so I can figure out the best way to address this? Any help is appreciated.
Also, anybody know of a good source for used wheels at least 7 inches wide that will fit the 4wd hub? I don't hual maximum loads often so I am thinking of dropping down on the tire capacity and softening up the ride while I save money on buying tires.
