I know this has been asked before but most the treads im finding are several years old. i was wondering what everyones recent thoughts or on these two programmers.
What one would be best for a 2002 f150 5.4 supercrew. I know that you can get custom tunes with the sct but i probably wont ever do any custom tunes. The sct is about 50 dollars cheaper but i have read better reviews on the cts.
Tell me what your thats are and what one is better right out of the box with no custom tunes.
I bought an X3 from 5 star that came with custom tunes for my V10 F350. Made a noticeable difference in the truck. Mostly due to the drive by wire throttle, throttle response is much much improved.
We'll I'm just going to go with a canned tune for now. I know everyone will disagree and say get a custom tune but for now I just want a canned one. I'm stuck between the sct and cts. I did some more research and the sct actually does cost more. And personally I like the look of the cts better. But when it comes to the preloaded tunes which one is better?
It might not hurt for you to call five star and talk to Mike. I personnaly didn 't want a canned tune. If I was going to pay the money for a tuner I wanted all the gains I could get.
When I bought mine from Five star it came with tunes. After I got the tuner I told them which tunes I wanted and they e-mailed them to me and I loaded them on the device after saving them on my hard drive.
My original purpose in buying the SCT was so I could read DTCs. Since then I had to buy a scanner to read my 2001 f150. I never tried the canned tunes on the device but was impressed with the custom performance tune. They can give you tunes for your specific driving style not just a generic one tune fits all approach.
Sounds reasonable. I wasn't looking to spend that much. My wife has a Charger SRT 8 with the 6.4L 470 hp hemi. It has all those functions built in. Her '11 Ram Laramie had them as well. I found I never used them much so I didn 't want to spend the extra money for something I wouldn't use.
Way my 02 f150 lariat fx4 is pretty basic when it comes to that. I also like the look of the gauges and the back up camera will be nice. I also like the code reader they have and tat you can track quarter mile and 0-60. I think the sct is what I'm going with.
