East Bay Stand Down needs hlp
I've decided to volunteer some time and help the East Bay Stand Down.
In a nutshell, they provide a variety of services over 3 days for 450 homeless veterans.
The event will happen at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton (off of Bernal Rd., just a couple of exits south of I-580/680 junction).
It's scheduled for September 11-14, 2014, but they need help setting things up the week before and they need help tearing things down for about three days after.
You can get more information if you go to their web site: East Bay Stand Down
Please volunteer if you can spare the time to do so.

That is a worthy cause. I have been to one stand down down here, back when I was living in the Vet's Plaza. Free food, free eye exams, free clothing (especially combat boots) and other free services. Can have your past due tickets taken care of (I did) and they even have a DMV booth where you can re-apply for a license. (I did) Saved me a ton of money back then.
