Looking to get a 7 pin plug setup for my 20' trailer to haul my toys.
Is this the plug I'd use? And is there a kit I can adapt to the 7 pin connection my trailer has?
I just did this on my truck on Saturday. There's two ways you can do it. Hopefully Your truck has the trailer wiring Plug in the back it should have 4 wires. 1. Yellow turn and stop 2. green turn and stop 3. black running lights 4. White ground.
There might be another plug under there with three wires 1 blue brake controller 2. Orange keyed power. 3. Black with green stripe reverse wire .
If there isn't any pre wired trailer wires back there then you have to tap into the tail Light wires. Either way no big deal. Just some patients and a good test light. Let me know if you have any questions.
It was a picture of the 7way wiring diagram. I had 1 of the 2 plugs I had to cut the plug off of the brake controller plug and hard wire it I can take some pictures of mine if you want.
