Power steering install

My truck: 1966 F100 LWB 352/3 speed

Donor: 1975 F100 LWB 390/3 speed.

Im going to try and complete this project this month by doing everything I can while the truck is on the road, then taking it down for one day to finish the swap.

For now Im keeping the drum brakes, they are new.

First round of questions:

1. If I support the engines, will I be able to swap the left perch without pulling the engines?

2. Will I only need to swap the steering box and pitman arm? Does everything outboard of the pitman arm belong with the drum brakes?

3. Is the bracket that holds the column to the dash welded to the column?

4. Will I keep my 66 shift rods? It looks like the rods are the same on both trucks, the difference being the brackets on the lower column that they bolt to.

5. Is the 75 PS pump bracket going to bolt to my 66 WP housing and line up properly, or do I need the 75 WP housing?

6. Should I use a tranny cooler for a PS cooler, and do I drill 2 holes through the core support to run the hoses? The parts truck has a funky looking cooler inside the engine compartment, it doesn't look very efficient.

More later Im sure. Right now I want to make sure I have all the parts I need. I don't know if the donor column needs any repair or not, Im going to get it out this weekend and see if I can figure out what kind of shape its in.

I bought the parts truck 18 months ago and its just been sitting in a field, time to get some projects completed and the carcass hauled off.

FE block same, should swap.

Existing should work, doesn't require a lot.

If you own it already swap the I-beams for the discs, you will not regret it.

The front end on the donor needs a complete rebuild.

My power drum system is new from the backing plates out + hoses + booster/MC.

No need to swap to discs for now, I want to get some use out of the money I put in the drums.

I have all the parts for the PS swap sitting in my shop or on the parts truck. I also have all the parts for my 4V and dizzy swap. Those two projects are up first.
