I have an 86 ford 150 302 efi, its equiped with a 80 amp dual plug alt. i would like to put a 130 amp alt from a later model vehicle. the problem is the late models have a single plug mine has two! can i modify it? has any one ever done this? can it de done? I have duel electric fans a/c and when these are both on the guage really jumps up! as if the alt working overtime.
i have them wired to a fan controller that hooks ups to the battery
and also has a relay. i have hooked up to where when i turn on my ac the fans come on automaticly.
I put on of their 3G alternators on my 89 Mustang. Probably the best money I spent on the car.
I sent them an email about getting one for my truck also. I just have to check a couple things and get back to them.
But they said it wouldn't be a problem to fit one in the truck.
why do say it was the best money you spent? what did you specificlly like about it? I figured out how to wire the old to new and would only cost me about 10 bucks to get the 130 amp alt.
