It blows, but only lukewarm..... feels like it's out of or low on freon, but I won't know until tomorrow. Searched the forum but I appear to to be the first with this issue? I just hope it's covered under warranty, whatever it is.
AC coverage ends with the bumper to bumper unless you have a ESP. My 05 went warm shortly after I got it and it just needed freon. No leaks were found. Good luck.
I typically top my freon charge up every year or so. Makes a big difference. I'd bet the factory fill is marginally low as I've added freon to every truck I've had.
What I did was buy a can of it with the gauge and fill nozzle already on it, follow instructions on the bottle. Get the small can and you'll probably add the whole thing. Make sure you get the right kind, 134a I think? Says so on the stickers under the hood.
I probably need to check mine, if spring would ever stick around for more than a couple days!
Mine was doing that intermittently. When I got to looking around, I found the connector on the side/center of the a/c pump was just sitting on the stud and only relying on gravity to maintain a connection. Pushed it on the rest of the way and a/c has been working 100% ever since, that was about 100K miles ago.
Worth a look.
One way to see if it's the evaporator recharge it then let it run in the driveway and check the water from the evaporator on the ground for oil. I wonder if it leaks does the leak keep getting bigger or does it stay the same size?
Mine at 90k lost it's cooling during this past winter. I recharged it and it has been fine for a week or so now but it hasn't been that hot out.
I hope the charge will hold for the summer. Even half of the summer as I would just recharge it. Simple to do. Don't add R134A with the Stop Leak. You can buy just R134A at Walmart. Stop Leak can clog up the system they say.
I can't afford $1400 plus for them to tear the dash out to change the evaporator. I'm still paying for the truck and will be off work for 2 months due to total knee replacement in June.

Any news from the dealership, 2horses? I'll be happy to check out some ways to help; just send me a PM with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership so I can get started.
Just got done, the tech found everything to be in good shape - including the freon level, wiring and relays - and so he "reprogrammed HVAC module to latest level" to see if that would fix it. And it did! For now, anyway. For the freon he "recovered freon at the correct level, evacuated and recharged," which I'm assuming means that he emptied a full system and refilled it. Diagnosed it as clutch not coming on, he ran pin point tests and they all came back good, so that's when he reprogrammed the module. I did hear him say that he could not find any TSB's for that issue, so maybe it was a random glitch? Let's hope so.
And working in IT, I know that sometimes computers just misbehave..... when in doubt, reboot.
Excellent report! Good to hear it was nothing major. Any time my ex has an issue with her computer, the first thing I always ask her when troubleshooting is whether or not she has tried a reboot. 99% of the time it works. Glad it fixed your truck.
Worked along side a helpdesk for years and as a tech myself at times. That is the first thing I (and they) ask as well. Did you try rebooting? No.. Reboot and call us back if the problem continues. don't get too many call backs. Now if the computer won't turn on at all that is different...
