idle issue

ok so I finally put a new cam in my truck, decided to get it done while I had the engine out for the rear main seal and other leaks. my problem now is that I cant get the truck to idle properly now. its an edelbrock performer-plus cam. my problem is that it wants to stay idled up(via ignition advance 1100-1500 rpm). If I unplug the SPOUT it idles down perfectly. im hoping that I just missed something simple and don't have to take it all apart to put a stock cam back in. I've talked to others who had installed that cam in an efi truck without issues. I also installed some header at the same time if that makes a difference as well.
im hoping to get this going good soon.
oh and the base timing is at 10 btdc right now

What truck are you working on? Year, model, motor, trans? I have an 88 F-250 with a 5.8 and a 5 speed that I am thinking about doing a cam change and am looking forward to hearing the advice that others might have.

What is the timing with SPOUT in?

Has the throttle stop screw been tampered with? If you unplug the IAC, what does the idle do? What is the TPS reading? Is it near 1.0 volt? Most throttle bodies I have checked run about .83-.89 volts.

I have not messed with the throttle set screw. I have a new tps and also verified it with the meter and its working good. As far as the timing goes with spout in, it changes a lot sometimes it'll lower just fine to I think 15-20. Other times its not even near the marks on the crank. I'll check timing again and het more exact numbers for you

oh and when I unplug the iac, sometimes it will idle down a bit, most of the time it doesn't do anything though.

Could the issue be the cam lobe separation is near the limit of what the SD motor can handle? From what I saw of the cam, it has a 112* lobe separation and IIRC, the max is 114*? Just a thought.

ive heard that 114 is the best for it, but ive also heard that a 112 will work, although not perfectly. I haven't heard of high and variating idle being a problem either
