tps sensor problems?
I just got a 1990 f150 5.8 few days ago and have been reading a code 63 and read how to test the tps but my reading was odd my voltage was above 5 it was around 6 ish and the wire back to the computer was.4 so that was under and the ground wire said my battery volts 14 is the sensor bad or is it something else. Symptoms it's had since got it are it will stall after you start it unless u keep your foot in the gas and aftr its warmed up it will run and shudder around 500-700 rpm needs a neew thermostat as well I believe it is stuck open any help I would appreciate

the voltage should be low if you are not moving the throttle body (meaning it's closed). The way the TPS works is to increase voltage output as the throttle body is opened. If you are getting 5v or more and the throttle body is closed, I'd say replace it. Get one from your local parts store, these can be made cheaply and you will get what you pay for so don't get it off a place like eBay (I speak from experience).
When you connect the new one you should be getting a voltage of 1.0 (could be lower like 0.8 or higher like 1.1) and when you move your throttle body to open it, the voltage should increase.

Let me specify I'm sorry my power supply from the pcm to the tps was reading 6 when I herd its only suppose to be 5 and forgot what the reading was with the throttle open I think it didn't move I will check again as soon as I can
