Fuel pressure problems

I have a 89 f150, which I'm not getting any fuel to the motor, it turn over but the the motor doesn't fire. I had a bad DFR which I bypass with the fuel lines and I'm still not getting any pressure to the motor. I think it's the fuel pressure regulator and it's been giving me fits, can anyone help me plz

Remove the vacuum line from the FPR. Do you smell or see gas in the vacuum line? With the line off, try to start the motor. What happens?

Need to isolate either low psi in tank pump or high psi side frame pump as culprit.

I'm leaning towards low psi in tank pump.

Others will chime in...

Do you hear the high pressure fuel pump and the selected in-tank fuel pump run for one second each time you turn on the key?

I took off the line off of the FPR turn the key on and gas came out of the line. The pump kicks on I cranked and it turned over for a split sec, but still no motor fire

Looks as if the FPR has failed. If you removed the vacuum line from the FPR and fuel poured out, I'm thinking that it has failed. That may be why it won't start if fuel psi is so high, its flooding the engine. That would allow raw fuel to be sucked into the intake.

If you pull the plugs, are they soaked with fuel?

Yes you have a bad Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR).
Replace the FPR.
Then start it by holding the throttle wide open until it starts and as soon as it starts shut it off and change the motor oil.
