I have a 89 f150, which I'm not getting any fuel to the motor, it turn over but the the motor doesn't fire. I had a bad DFR which I bypass with the fuel lines and I'm still not getting any pressure to the motor. I think it's the fuel pressure regulator and it's been giving me fits, can anyone help me plz
I took off the line off of the FPR turn the key on and gas came out of the line. The pump kicks on I cranked and it turned over for a split sec, but still no motor fire
Looks as if the FPR has failed. If you removed the vacuum line from the FPR and fuel poured out, I'm thinking that it has failed. That may be why it won't start if fuel psi is so high, its flooding the engine. That would allow raw fuel to be sucked into the intake.
Yes you have a bad Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR).
Replace the FPR.
Then start it by holding the throttle wide open until it starts and as soon as it starts shut it off and change the motor oil.
