1994 f150 tailgate help

Hey, just got my self a 1994 f150 as a project. The tail gate is rusted out on the bottom 2 inches all the way across the tailgate. The rust is right through, any suggestions on how I should go about repairing it? Im new to this so im not sure to weld,rivet or to try to find a new one. Any help is useful I want it to stay as original as possible. Thanks.

Finding a good used one or buying a new one would be your better bet.

Go to a pick a part and snag a new-to-you one cost you $40-60 in my area
