Saddle tank sending unit
I have a 76 F250 4x4. When I bought it back in 76. I had a side tank added, which sits on the left side of truck under front of bed. The tank is designed to fit around the frame. I'm looking for a sending unit which has three outlets. One for the fuel pickup, one for the vent from fill hose, and one from upper outboard side of tank to upper inboard side of tank. Sounds confusing but the tank to tank is because the tank goes under frame then up on both outside and inside. You need to vent it together so the air on the inside can escape, allowing fuel in. The gauge works but only will read to 3/4 full. I removed sending unit and it looks new, with a 1976 date still on it. I cleaned her up, replaced it, and still only 3/4 reading, with an occasional full reading. The sending unit is real basic with three outlets on top along with wire hookup post. It has 5 holes on outer edge to screw down to tank. The inside has tube which goes straight down with a rubber hose for adjusting for depth. The float arm is attached at the upper most part of unit.
Wow. That was a breath full. Any ideas where to look. All the sites I've been to showed newer ones.
