I have a new to me 2006 F250 4x4 truck that has been find up until our very first hwy trip. We were traveling on a rough stretch of hwy and hit a pretty nasty bump about a mile or so later it sounded like something fell off the truck, nothing changed performance wise, so just thought it was the crappy road. A few miles later we exited the hwy and heard what sounded like metal being dragged down the road. Pulled in to a John Deer dealership and their mechanics looked at the breaks which where incredibly worn. The mechanics replaced the break pads and everything sounded fine for about 100 yard and now it sounds like a metal brushing sound, the noise increases with the wheel revolutions. Husband thinks its just the cap, but Im worried it's more. Any help would be appreciated. I'm stuck 200 miles from home!

Anyone? I would really appreciate some suggestions and thoughts
Sounds like a front wheel bearing. If brakes were that bad and it's 8 yrs old, it's probably time.
These are sealed units that must be replaced. Good luck.
