faceblind - stuffblind

Hi,

Not too long ago, I read about something called face blindness. Pretty much it means that you can't distinguish people by their faces. In extreme cases. I guess some folks can't tell their own face in a mirror when they're in a group. Some, I guess, make odd facial expressions so they can see who they are in those situations.

I think that I'm at least 'face - vision impaired'.

On a possibly related note, I'm also 'stuffblind' . I fairly often have trouble finding stuff -- especially if it's important that I find it. Sometimes this is due to my having 'clever' when I stashed it. Other times I'll keep looking and it will eventually show up -- right where I thought it was. I'll stare at the same place I looked a dozen times, and it suddenly appears. Strange

Anybody else have any similar experiences?

hj

I am tool blind.

I can be sitting on the floor working on something and put a tool down. Then a minute or so later I can't find it. Though I never moved. Only to find it had moved itself under my own butt.

Speaking of butts, there are those that are Butt Blind. We all know people that couldn't find their own butts with both hands, a flashlight, roadmap and GPS.

Bit late in reply to this topic............

I swear I do this constantly---its a bit freaky and has me wondering about my sanity on occasions!

First time this happened to me was within the past two years---that I know of anyway. Had laid a tool down in a relatively clear floor area, went to grab it again and just could not see it laying there. I had walked away to do something else but immediately returned---no tool to be seen!

Looked around, poked through a few close at hand drawers, all the while knowing I'd laid that damn thing down just two minutes before. Something said "look again......." and WOW---there it was, same spot I thought it should be.

That may have happened before but this particular incident was the first I distinctly remember. Since then when ever something is "missing" I feel around, look two or three times but yet not seeing something right in front of me doesn't happen now. Instead its been replaced with me just forgetting where I've laid something!

Thought I was the only one until now............!!
