Hah thanks Phil! Yeah I want Gretchen to break 600 hp someday..
And x2 Nick! I think it was 73-79 F100 and F150 were similar body styles. All that changed was the grill/headlight configurations. I want one, but that one was not nearly as 'clean' as the guy made it sound.
The 'slight rust in the bed' should have been 'the bed skin is practically gone is most areas' lol
Also question for you guys.
Would you use any special kind of paint? It is a water pump so I figure it won't see any high temps that require high temp paint.
Would you just use regular rustoleum primer/paint?
The shop back home that could match ford blue paint code is back home and I want this done soon so I might just pick up primer/paint that is close to Ford blue as I can find.
I ended up grabbin some grey primer and this OEM farm equipment paint.
Darin do you think the high temp is really necessary? I am about to put my second coat of primer on and then was going to paint, but if you think I should get high temp maybe ill hold off.
And don't worry Travis I passed on it. I am basically looking for a truck to take the 7.3 I am putting together. lol
I would like to think that stuff will hold up, but who knows. We painted the engine on my dad's old John Deere Model A with the same kind of paint, just in John Deere green and it is still holding up decently. I'm not sure how hot that engine is getting though. It does spin less than 1000 RPMs afterall. LOL
