Anyone recognize this F1? And a suspension question
I don't know where I got this photo but I would like to see and read more about this truck. Does anyone recognize it? Love this setup, exactly what I want to build. My suspension question involves the air ride. When fully lowered, assuming a ride height with say 2 inches clearance (no part of frame or body on the ground) can you steer the vehicle? To allow for slow and low cruising...
Thanks for the reply. I was under the impression that this was the best place to go for Ford truck info. I want to build a nice, '48-52 Ford. The only thing non traditional that I want to do is bag it. No body mods, no chop top. Full bumpers, wide whites and nice paint.
I don't know that truck, but those front tires look strait up and down... doesn't look like a IFS this may have been a strait axle up front with a body drop...

I have never seen this particular truck before but it is interesting. It may be 100% hydraulic. I doubt that you could drive it as shown but like any lowrider it gets pumped up to the desired height before moving. Usually the ride on those vehicles is rather harsh.
If you want a cruiser then you can go with Posie's Dual Flex springs in the front and Super Sliders in the rear. See page 39 http://www.posiesrodsandcustoms.com/.../pages3247.pdf. This will give you about a 3" drop in the front and 2" in the rear and a substantially improved ride.
