Posie Question

I am thinking about putting on a set of Posie springs on the 48. Has anyone installed their 152R in the rear and D152F on the front and if so how do you like the result?

Yes, you will get about a 3" drop with the Dual Flex in the front and about 2" in the rear with the Super Sliders. I visited their shop in Hummelstown near Hershey. Very nice people and their shop is like a candy store. I'm glad that I do not live closer.

Have the Posies on front of the truck great ride compared to leaf spring removals to get a lower ride height. Will be doing the rears prior to summer.
Good luck.

I think you will find Posies' stuff to be as good as you can buy.

That is the exact tire size that i am running and just the stance that I am looking for. I like the feeling of driving an old straight axle truck but just want to soften the ride a bit. Thanks everyone for your feedback.

Do either of you guys have power steering on your trucks with the 245-60 series tires? Or still manual? How does it steer with tires that wide, effort wise?

I have a Toyota setup on mine, steering is just fine with the big tires.

Posie

Hi, I also have posie springs fron and back but I have a problem with the front hitting the bump stops, real hard.
They are the original bump stops and are less than an inch away from hitting when standing.
Do I have to fit shorter stops ?
Bokker.
Ps other than that the ride is ok and very truck like!

Posies sold me shorter stops when I got my springs. They should have them in stock.

I got the Super Slides installed in the rear. What a difference in ride and they dropped the rear of the truck almost three inches which leveled out the truck nicely. Here is where a problem comes in. I like the stance of the truck just the way it is but still want to soften up the front a bit. If I put the Posies on the front I am not sure how much it is going to drop the front compared to the tired old springs that are on their now. If anyone that has installed the Posies on the front of their 48-52 could you measure the distance from the top of the axle to the frame. I sure would appreciate it, this would tell me about how much drop to expect if any.
Thanks in advance.

If you use Posie's Dual Flex on the front you will get a 2-3" drop. See picture of my '50 F2. The picture below is with the Dual Flex on the front but I had not done the Super Sliders in the rear yet. Also the rear tires are too big.

Sorry I was in the UK on vacation. The center of my front axle measures 6.5 inches from the floor of my garage to the bottom of it with the dual flex. My suspension is stock with the exception of posies all the way around. I am running 235x60x15 front tires also. 275x60's on the rear. I have a Ford Racing 306 with aluminum heads and a AOD transmission which is lighter than the original flathead v8 and 4 speed I pulled out. I don't know how yours will sit, but i like the look and the ride, ie still a truck but softer.
