Well everyone I thought I would let you all know I’m finally finished. Just put on the 35 inch tires today, had the lift on for a while, but had an alignment done and some other stuff. So I just got it back today. And got the tires on today also
Go to my gallery for some pics if you like, I’m very happy with the way it looks.
Some people were wondering when I was putting the 35’s; well I’m letting you know now.
The link below is to my gallery:
hey madman, we need to go 4wheelin this summer, im think Uwarhi (sp?) or something somewhat hardcore. thats after i get my truck finished, puttin in a big block and solid front end. no terrain will be safe
Madman you're my inspiration for my new truck. I'm gettin a 302 with a stick and 4x4 this time. I want a 6" lift with 35 BFGs. Mine will be a supercab though. Hows that 302 pull on those 35s w/ 3.55s?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-May-02 AT 11:46 PM (EST)]Hey stang, sorry to hear about your truck. "Madman you're my inspiration for my new truck." I’m blushing , ok I wish I had a stick also.
Its seems to pull ok, haven’t driven it much with the 35's on, just put them on today. Hills and towing were said to be tough. But with a manual it would be better. Just means a little more pushing on the go pedal to get up big hills and towing.
I’ll let you know once I get more seat time.
Good luck on you next purchase!;-)
hey mustang, im runnin the 302 with stock gears and 36's, it actually does really good. my gears might actually be different though because my truck used to haul the big box trailers around job sites so my gears could be lower. but my truck does great, i have no mods to the engine, and i havent re geard, only hp gain ive done was add an open air filter and took off the muffler. truck does awsome off road.
Thanks, my old 4.9L really bogged down on the 32s with 3.55s, i never really understood why wiht all the torque it has.

very nice lookin truck. I just wish I would have taken more before/during pictures when doing my lift... that and forking over the extra couple bucks for 6" instead of 4" but anyways......
Very nice...
....and if it matters to anyone, i have the 351, stock 3.55 gears, and 35" GoodYear MT's and dont have any problems with power
Madman, nice truck, i hav ean 89 reg cab short bed i was thinkin of converting to 4x4(heard it wasn't THAT hard) and if i do i think i'll go with a 6"lift like yours, the 35's look good with that lift, but you said the 302 doesn't seem to have trouble pullin the 35's, i guess mine is worn out because my 2wd gets 10mpg with 32's and has trouble runnin 70 in a headwind(i'm rebuildin it anyways, with a mild cam). could you check you MPG and get back to us on that?
Justin, what size rear end gears do you have though? He's talking 3.55s and if you have 3.08s it will be pretty sluggish.

Well guys...
I have driven it a lot more, and have assessed that it is seems considerably slower. It’s pretty doggy in overdrive, but doesn’t seem to be too bad getting up to speed. My engine has always had *****.
Cant go over 60 cause my drive shaft is making weird noises, so must do something about that.
What really pisses me off is I went to reprogram my Speedo, and I found out someone used up all the calibrations, how the hell could that happen, my truck was stock when I got it!
I’m swapping to 4.56's next year, at the auto tech school I’m going to go to. So it should be a lot better when I swap them. I also am thinking about adding some more power to my engine, ran some stuff on DD 2000, and got some good numbers from a SD cam and some heads I have in the basement.
Thanks for all the compliments!
