2WD off roading

I had a two wheel drive bronco II (open differential) that I went thru huge ( 30 ft long and no ruts deep enough about up to my axles) 60 mph going in. never got stuck just get on it and hold on ethier you make it break it or get struck because you hit a rut.
It was alot of fun I just watch my friends go thru things and make a plan back up and hit it. I got stucka couple of times but it was easy to get out stuff that I didn't prepare for

2WD off roading

Sounds like you have to get wet and muddy to be an off-roader! I don't take any of my rigs into the puddles and mud. I'm too lazy to clean everything off!! HEE HEE! I'll go 4-wheeling in the winter and have just as much fun, without all the cleanup. I don't like to carry too many extra parts, so I take it easy and stay on the trails. But to each his own. It's a shame that the gov. and tree huggers are taking the land away from those who enjoy it the most. Have fun and Tread Lightly....

My ranger edge does ok off road, as long a I have my wench running. The most mud my truck has seen, though is only 3-4 inches. More than that, and you can just forget about it. Love fish-tailing in the shallow water....

I took my 2wd f-150 in places that still amaze me. Some of it's too much to explain. Think: ice, snow, a spring stream, mud, clay, and sand. Nothing extreme, but I know guys who would have hesitated with their 4x4s going where I went that day.

Then, first time out with a full size Bronco, I got it stuck in the woods. Go figure. I had to get pulled out by a guy with a little toyota. Talk about embarrassing.

i have heard people say here that a locked 2wd is just and good as a 4x4 with open. thats pure BS. because when on the ground all 4 wheels get power untill one slips, giving more momentem, and with 4x4 you aren't pushing your two front tires into the mud all the time, they will at least pull you. trust me i ran my truck with 4x4 open for awhile, then when i locked the rear and when it 2wd, it was better than open 2wd, but not as good as open 4x4. 2wd should only really be used for high speed desert and jumps where you need tons of travel that a 4x4 can't quite give.
