CAC boots

It's time for a replacement for the stockers....177k is enough.

Does anyone have a preference on a maker?

or should I say does anyone have a reason NOT to choose one or the other??

Well that looks like a resounding Yeah for RiffRaff...thanks for the input all.

Unless someone posts up some catastrophic reason why I shouldn't before lunch tomorrow...the order's going in!

BTW...any of you guys here know any reason why the replacement metal cold pipe shouldn't fit my 05 EX? I still have the plastic one and I'm thinking I might as well replace it now seeing how once the boots get replaced that's going to be the weak link.

By way of comparison

Here is what the RiffRaff boots look like compared to the stock boots w/ 150k

Any questions?

ANother Riff Raff happy customer!!!

I was at 160k on stock boots and they kept popping off. Asked all over the board like you did and it was a resounding RIFF RAFF vote from everyone. And I couldn't be happier

SIDE NOT: if anyone, including the Ford dealership tells you that these won't work because they don't have the notch like the factory ones do, don't listen. They don't need them

I just replaced mine with the riff raff boots. They are a whole lot better than the stock ones, the stock boots were thin and flimsy. Just be sure to really tighten down the clamps. Mine kept popping off because I didn't have the clamps tight enough.

Why are boots so freakin' expensive, though?

Couldn't I just get a section of 3.5" silicone hose and make my own by cutting it to fit?

Yeah sure, if you want them to end up like the DieselSite boots where the inner layer flaked off and got fed to the intercooler.

Okay, that makes sense. Just I find spending $120 for four pieces of silicone rubber offensive.

There's a lot of replies that could address ^^^^^ post, but I'll just simply throw in another vote for RR boots. No problems with mine.
