MAF sensor cleaning, Ping, '94 Exploder
I've read that instead of replacing the MAF sensor ($130), you can carefully clean the elements. Has anyone had experience with this?
Looks like you need a special Torx 25 with hollow tip?

MAF sensor cleaning, Ping, '94 Exploder
I have cleaned the MAf on my 94 explorer which also has a ping problem. It had more power and less of a ping but the ping was still there. I got the screws out with the craftsman screw out damaged screw removerand replaced them with normal sloted head serews. I cleaned the elements with carb cleaner and let it air dry befor I put it back on.
