I just bought a two wheel drive 2006 F150 XL, 4.2 auto, with the basic fuel oil temp and volt gauges. (I got tired of replacing the clutch slave cylinder in my 95 every 8-10 months).
So far I like the truck, that only thing I have found that doesn't work is the trip odometer. When I filled the gas tank so I can check mileage, the trip odometer would not reset.
I tried every combination of pushing pulling and twisting the reset button I can think of. Is there a fix for this?
I searched this forum back until 2007 and couldn't find anything.
I know I can write the mileage down, but I like to have everything working correctly.
Please don't recommend youtube, I am on very slow dial-up and am lucky if half the pictures in a post open.
Press the button to bring up the trip odometer, then press and HOLD the button till the trip odometer resets. Takes up to ten seconds for this to happen.
