I had pretty much the same thing with my old V10 It was burned #9 and #10 pistons. My truck saw a hard live with not so good service history. The truck was using about 2qts of oil every 1k miles so I figured it was a big issue.
Do you have any oil or coolant loss?

Yes it was bad, but it would vanish within 60 seconds! That truck was driven into the ground by the railroad since new. It had just under 13,000 idle hours. 1hr = 33 miles so somewhere in the 460,000 miles of just idling wear and tear.
The back pistons were badly burned, the truck was ran hot quite a few times and probably low on oil a few times.
