So is there anyone that may have some insight or can point me in a direction, I've got a 95 Ford 7.3 that the block cracked on. I bought a motor but it was a 99 7.3. Is there anyway to adapt the motor to the pickup. The new motor does not have an intercooler but the wiring is all different. Is there an adapter that can hook its wiring into the stock 95 wiring harness? I saw the gaskets needed changed so I did, but to run my harness those are wrong and so is the wiring to hook into the computer. Any help would be appreciated.
Honestly you should have done a little more research before jumping on the '99 Engine.
Very little is compatible. You will need swap the intake manifold, the valve covers + valve cover gasket harness and the whole accessory drive system from the '95. You'll need to swap your '95 injectors into the '99 as well as your computer will not be able to run them properly. Additionally, you'll need to install an electric fuel pump, as the '99 engine doesn't have a provision for a mechanical lift pump.
You might be better off selling the '99 engine and finding a 95-97 engine.
I second Ian's post. There are so many differences, besides shape that make it not worth it. You'll spend more trying to make it work than your losses will be selling it and getting the 95 7.3. Sorry.
