Engine de-coking - 88 F150
Does anyone know of a product or method to de-coke a 5.0 litre efi in an 88 F150????
I have a problem with dieseling that I suspect is coke related after a PCV valve failure.

"COKE" is carbon build-up deposited in the engine.
Believe it or not GM makes a chemical cleaner. "GM TOP END CLEANER" Get the pour version. Follow the directions explicitly.
I've used this stuff for better than 20 years now on all makes of cars. Including Fords, Studebakers, %hevies, etc. with no problems.
It will smoke for about 5 minutes after you're finished with the stuff but thats the crap burning off in your converter.

Techron Fuel System Cleaner will do the same, without the smoke. Put two large bottles in your fuel tank. Don't confuse with Techron fuel injector cleaner.
