Sorry, I'm not much help for you on the side trim. I've never had the joy of trying to get all the clips/holes in the right spot for the dent trim.

Maybe one of the others will chime in if they've had to add the trim to a body panel that didn't originally have it.

I am about to try to mount mine a stupid question do the hole go all the way trough the tail gate or just the front outer skin?

The "Ford" panel uses through holes. I've seen it mounted with both screws or rivets. I would prefer the former... use quality screws with the flattest head possible.
