timing question
Have a 351M in a 77 F150 custom...
I had to take the heads off to do some work on it and #1 piston is all the way up but the marks i made on the distributor somehow wiped off..so now what..is there hope on getting the timing right?

Check to make sure your timing marks are correct at this point. Sometimes the harmonic balancer can slip and the timing marks will be off. When you install the distributor later just make sure that the rotor is pointing at #1 when the #1 cylinder is at TDC on the compression stroke. You can determine the compression stroke by observing the valves or by feeling for air being expelled thru the spark plug hole as the engine is rotated. Simple stuff if you think about what you are doing.
