A little help please.
Started my 80 F150 this morning and put her in reverse and heard a loud hissing. So I looked under and seen trans fluid all over the drivers side and floor. Got under to see where and I seen two of the bottom bolts on the reverse servo cover where not tight and looks like part of the gasket is sticking out.
Tighten the bolts and started the truck and same thing happened.
So how hard is it to replace the seal ?
Thanks for any info.
You will probably have to go to a tranny shop to get the gasket, so ask them while you are there. That's what I did when I had the governor gear strip on a turbo 350. I had to go to the tranny shop to get a new one, they had it on the shelf. And had a nice little talk with them while I was there.
