JRS I don't think that could be done you'd have to break open the actual pump itself and I dunno if that'd be worth the time, effort and parts just to re-install and find out you didn't fix a damn thing or messed it up worse than it was.
Ok, here is a slightly different question. Are all the items shown in the pic inside the plastic housing which includes the fuel pump ? If so, some of the units not that expensive starting at around 40 it appears .....
So I am bumping this because I never actually tested that replacing the fuel pump fixed my cross fueling issue I just assumed it would. I dont use the rear tank the often but I figured this week when I filled up i would use the rear tank just to make sure everything was still working. Low and behold I am still expierienceing cross fueling issue.
Is the FDM witht he shuttle valve part of the pump or does it interact with the sending unit. What I did before was ditch the old pump but reuse the sending unit on the front tank. I find it highly unlikely that I recieved a brand new pump with a faulty FDM.....guidance please!
No the shuttle valve is not part of the pump. It is a valve inside the FDM.
The pressure from the pump does open the shuttle valve in the FDM.
The sending unit just controls the fuel gauge and has nothing to do with the flow or pumping of the fuel.
