Broken shield around fuel float valve
I took apart my 2100 carb to rebuild it and when I took the fuel inlet valve and needle out, you know, the ones connected to the fuel float that blocls off the fuel when the bowl fills up, the little tub/shield that surrounded the valve popped off. What was this thing? I panicked for a sec, but then experimented and it goes back on to where it came from when the valve is screwed back into the place it came from. It looks like it fits just fine, but now I'm worried. Do I have a problem or was this some sort of gasket that comes off anyhow?
