towing with 2003 expedition
Has anyone pulled a travel trailer with a 2003 expedition with the 4.6L V-8. I am thinking of purchasing a camper that weighs around 4000lbs and was wondering if my expedition would pull it ok.

Here's a link to Ford's website with towing capacities for the Expedition. It looks like you are safe towing up to 5000 lbs. Make sure your RV weighs less than 5000 fully loaded. Don't calculate the weight based on the dry weight of the trailer.

I have tried to tow my 4300 lb travel trailor and around town it has no problem but on the open road, it strains all the way. It is the 4.6 liter. If you plan on towing a distance of over 200 miles, plan on adding time to your plans because you will not be going very quickly. 60 mph max..
