Hard to move distributor

Hard to move distributor
Anybody got any suggestions for getting a hard to move distributor to move more freely?
I was trying a suggestion to move timing around on my 87 F150 302 and found that the distributor will not move by hand (had to tap it to move it)..the set screw was totally released, but it would not budge by hand...
Any suggestions wouldbe helpful..dont wanna go spraying WD40 somewhere it might not belong....:P

Hard to move distributor
They tend to get corrosion around the base. Only way I know is to apply some penetrating oil around the base and keep rotating it back and forth til free. If you pull the distributor, clean it up with a little crocus cloth.
