2004 4x4 not engaging

2004 4x4 not engaging
I noticed that the indicator lights on my dash are not working and when I try to engage the 4 wheel drive, nothing is working. Not even making a sound when automatic switch is turned over to 4L or 4H. Any ideas. I've checked the fuses and all are good. Could it be a relay switch?

take a hammer and tap the 4x4 shift solenoid. until that thing shifts, none of the lights will indicate.
those solenoids are known for freezing up. hammer love will set it straight usually
