Does anyone have the scoop on the Ford automatic door locks?
I have a 1999 and my brother has a 2000 F250 Super Duty truck and both have door lock issues. It seems as if the pusle to lock or unlock the doors is too short...
My '99 came with the standard remote locks but I had the remote starter and alarm installed before I took delivery and have no lock problems. I don't know if it is related to the standard remote or not with your problems.
I'm having same problem on my '99 F-250 PSD. It's like there's not enough power to lock or unlock on passenger side. Driver's side works fine. Going to replace actuator, that should do it.
Kinda had the same problem with mine. It would lock but not unlock. Ended up spraying some cleaner (not WD40) down in there and cycled the switch manual several times. Seemed it might have been dirty and have had no problems since
I think I know what Mizzou is talking about. It's an electrical contact cleaner and comes in a spray can. I had a can at one time, i think it said CRC on the label but not 100% sure. I think I'll try that first B-4 buying new actuator.
Hey Mizzou, not to change subject, but I am researching lift kits and wondering with your lift and tires how tall is your truck? I just built new house a year ago and would hate to modify garage to fit. My garage doors are 9x8 (9' tall x 8' wide).
Not for sure but will have to go out and measure it to see. I know it won't make it through a 7' parking garage (didn't try it, just pulled up to the "must be this short" sign)
