Just did front calipers on my Expy. Could not get a firm brake pedal after bleeding brakes for over an hour. Don't have the correct program to cycle abs valves but followed the manual to a t. Still nothing. Finally pulled the fuse for the abs valve and re-bled the brakes. Worked like a charm. Reinstalled the fuse and off I went. Just thought I would share for those struggling with a soft pedal.

Hey there showags, Im looking to get some knowledge on my brake system or at least find out what i need to do. I just read a post elsewhere about ABS systems having a "BLOCK" that needs to be bled by a pro with a scanner or something like that. Ive bled my brakes before several times but I never knew about this.
Ive got a 2000 f150 v6 4.2 and my brakes are locking up real bad. so I want to start the inevidable process of elimination, but reading your post I think this cycling of the valves is something i need to look into and I wonder if this is something that I can do or do I need some kinda scanner. I appreciate any help you might have and thanks in advance if so . thanks
