Head Gaskets!

Got an 03 F250, 5.4l that has blown the intake manifold or head gaskets, sucking down antifreeze, and overheating, etc.

Has anyone replaced their own. I'm a decent mechanic.......but not sure if I want to tackle this one or not! Been getting estimates of roughly 2K-2500 to get the job done......

Spend that money on a Ford engine and have a warranty.

head gasket.

just got a quote on a valve job and head gasket on a 98 4.6 2,900 and change. 6K for a rebuild complete engine. sad thing is bluebook is only 2,300 ... what to do....

I recommend checking your compression on all cylinders and make sure it is your head gasket before going and spending all that money on a rebuild or having a mechanic do it. pulling intake man is not that hard or expensive.
