I have a 77 f150 that I have put a 351w and AOD with a BW1345. The 1345 sucks because it's wider than the NP205/203. When I did the swap I was happy to get rid of the beastly and damaged 203. I was going to put in a 205 that I bought on eBay but it was damaged/destroyed in shipping. I temporarily put on the 1345 (8 years ago), had to notch the frame a little and drop the trans mount an inch to allow clearance for the front drive shaft since the 1345 is wider and also clocked down a little more. This is less than ideal and since I'm about to put a lift on I would like to get the case right. Is a 150 pound 205 my only option (besides a $3000 Atlas). I don't know how much weight I want to hang behind my AOD's aluminum t-case adapter, plus I know I would have to modify the adapter to accommodate the shift rails of the 205. I don't beat my truck and don't need a bullet proof all gear case like the 205. I would prefer something lighter and aluminum but to my knowledge nothing like that exists for this year of truck... or does it?
The truck has 35's, 4.56 gears, the AOD has been rebuilt and modified with 4R70W gears and a shift kit, engine is a 351w F4TE roller block with a Mustang cam GT40 heads ported truck intake with Mustang mass air conversion, around 350 hp.
