Painting Plastic Trim

I'm tired of looking at the grey plastic molding on my Deep Wedgewood Blue Ranger. Is there a good way to paint them black? I'm talking the fender flares, bed rails, and bumper molding. I thought of taking the rails and flares off, but am assuming that the paint already has fine scratches (I hope fine!) from the plastic rubbing. Duplicolor has a bumper paint, but is that more for metal bumpers? They also have Vinyl and Fabric Color, which I assume is a vinyl dye, but how well would it work on exterior trim? I've also seen recently Krylon Fusion, but haven't heard from anyone on how well it works. Please no suggestions on buying new parts, I don't have that kind of money!

And while on this topic: Who at Ford decided black trim would look good on light colored trucks, and grey would look good on dark?

When they say bumper paint they are usually refering to plastic bumpers. Don't use the vinyl/plastic paint, it chips really easily. Go to a paint supply store and see what they have, if you don't have one close, you can use your original Duplicolor or check out www.eastwoodcompany.com . Either way you go make sure you clean your trim pieces with rubbing alcohol first.

Krylon Fusion works great on interior painting, no sanding down or anything. But on exterior i have no clue... worth a shot? Its not very expensive, like 5 bucks a can. Use a little and if it doesnt work then well... you can scratch it off
