New guy here

Howdy yall im new to the forum and need some advice i have a 95 f150 4x4 4.9 5 speed and i have a 5.0 sitting around i cant decide between the 2 i like the top end of the 302 but don't know if i could give up the low end of the 6 btw im runnin 373 gears and 33 12.50s and the 5.0 is stock now but not for long

so buy a truck with a dead 5.0 and put your engine in it.
everyone knows that 1 truck isnt enough.

Thanks and its got to be enough for now as im still in school but dont worry i will have more 9th gen fords

Howdy back at ya, welcome to FTE! I wouldn't fret over that 302 too much. Leave it stock, sell it, and get you a 351 to drop in instead. Then you'll have the best benefits in one engine. And when you do upgrade it, it'll make more power than a 302 with those same upgrades.

Search around here, there have been a few 302 to 351 swaps. Not sure about 300 to 351 though. I'd say just buy a donor truck with the engine you want and use the computer and harness from that in yours when you do the swap.

My main reason for going to the 302 is its free and wouldnt be too much worse than the 6 in gas with more top end and it will get at least a 351 a little later on but i drive close to 40 miles a day to school and back every day and gas aint cheap for a 17 year old with no job lol
