I got a great deal on two 7inch leds. where should I mount them?? I have an 09 f350. I was thinking one front and one rear. any suggestions?
and where exactly to mount?
What light do you need? You could easily mount both of them behind the grille and have a nice night time driving upgrade.
As far as the back, there aren't really to many places to mount a bar on the back unless you have a backrack or aftermarket bumper. You could cut holes in the rear bumper and use them as backup lights.
I was planning on getting 2 7" bars eventually and mounting one on each side of the backrack as cargo lights.
I wouldn't mount one on the rear for sure. I get behind people all the time that have mounted lights like that on the back of their vehicle and then forget to turn them off.
I'm usually grossing 80,000 lbs with 48,000 lbs of explosives that would make the Oklahoma City bombing look like a firecracker. My wife and kids like me to come home in one piece. Blind me and then have to stop for some reason and I am running over you and whomever is in your car before I swerve and risk blowing myself up(and still killing everyone around us). So you probably should care
ha I just can't see (no pun intended), driving down the road and not seeing a bright shining light coming out of the rear end of my truck.
You would be surprised how many people do just that. And how many people jump in front of an 80,000 lb truck and slam on their brakes to take an exit. Combine the two and it isn't pretty. With the stuff I haul I'm not swerving even if my own mamaw ran out in front of me lol.
Edit-I run up through Detroit and across the Blue Water Bridge a lot, so I will be watching out for you
Those must be the kind of people that look straight forward when they drive. Not looking at side or rear view mirrors.
My Grandpa and his friend started a trucking company in Chicago, (Dawes). My Papa still runs the place, think its owned by RoadRunner now.
Believe me, I am not cutting out in front of someone that can push me into next week. You guys have enough problems without needing to worry about idiots cutting you off, or into the side of you or coming to an abrupt stop in front of you.
But if I do see you, I might give you a big flash and smash the gas!!!!
Nice and bright! What lights are those on the rear? I have forgotten my backup lights on a couple times. Unfortunately there is no dash indicator to tell you the upfitters are on, and down as low as they are you don't notice the light on. I have thought about adding 4 little LED's on the dash somewhere that indicate if each of the upfitters are on.
Those LEDs work just fine for extra-bright backup lights. Since they draw very little power, you could hook them into your trailer backup light connection (my setup) or into your regular backup light connection. dramirez163 has a perfect example of this setup.
